Roasted turkey breast with lemon herb butter is really happening and it’s out of this world. We told you that the homemade lemon, garlic, herb butter could transform something simple into something off the charts delicious. Well, behold the simple turkey breast!! You cannot believe how easy this meal is. So, assuming you made up a batch of the ridiculously tasty lemon herb butter from our last blog post…(if you haven’t made it yet, don’t fret, you still have time, just make it happen because you won’t regret it). This bone in turkey breast might be one of the easiest ingredients for a quick weeknight dinner.
Simply rinse the turkey breast, pat it dry and smother it in the lemon, garlic, herb butter and some salt and pepper and pop it in the oven and there you go! Let it rest for about 10 minutes so it will be nice and juicy! Easy peasy!
Remove the meat from the bone and slice it up before serving. We served this one with some pureed cauliflower (yum) and simple steamed veggies.
- bone in turkey breast (We used a 3½ lbs cut, use more herb butter to accomidate for a larger size)
- 4 Tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1 Tbsp chopped rosemary
- 1 Tbsp chopped basil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp green onions, green ends sliced thin
- juice of ½ medium lemon
- zest of 1 lemon
- S & P
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees, can also roast in the bbq as well.
- Rinse turkey breast and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl add butter, rosemary, basil, garlic, green onions and lemon zest and juice. Mix until incorporated. Rub lemon herb butter under the skin and over the entire breast - both sides. Generously salt and pepper all sides of the turkey breast.
- Roast in the oven or BBQ for approx 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. Let rest for at least 10 minutes before removing the bone and cutting against the grain.
