We had such a blast hosting a cooking class with Bloguettes for their recent team building event. In case you are not familiar with them, Bloguettes is a local company based in Phoenix, AZ. (right in our backyard) that specializes in helping companies grow their online business and brand. They provide hands on training, webinars, workshops, online classes and offer many other resources that enable businesses to gain and grow their online presence. We were beyond excited when they chose us to host their team building event. We were lucky enough to have our friends at Whole Foods sponsor this fabulous event by providing all of the food! We met with Mary, the Event Coordinator at Bloguettes and together, we came up with the theme, “A Healthy Way to Get Through the Work Day”. This was a perfect plan given that their group is made up of young, busy, hardworking people. We created the menu based on this theme and wanted to keep it super simple, fun and of course, delicious! Our menu went like this: Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats, Peanut Butter Cup Balls, Cilantro Jalapeño Hummus and Tuna Salad with Cranberries and Dill.
We started the day before the event by stopping by Whole Foods to pick up all of our ingredients. We decided to pre-make all of the recipes so that we could show the team what the final product would look like. Genius right?? And, this would also give them something to snack on while they did the hands on part.
We set up the various cooking stations around their office (which is like the cutest work space ever) and had these fun printed recipe cards on display at each table. Each station had all of the “cooking tools” and ingredients laid out so they could get down to business. We kicked off the event by showing everyone the pre-made recipes and walked them through the steps to make them. Then, we set them free! They were off and running! Check out these fun video clips below to see what a great time we really had! There were lots of laughs and we feel confident that every person learned something new, which is exactly what we strive for! The food turned out great and they all voted the cilantro jalapeño hummus as their favorite
Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oat station… We thought that teaching them how to make overnight oats was the perfect choice for the busy professional. The beauty of overnight oats is being able to make them the night before. What’s better than waking up and having a healthy breakfast ready as you run out the door? These were a big hit!
Like we said, the hummus was the crowd favorite. Many people don’t realize how easy it is to make your own hummus. It’s something that can literally be done in 5 minutes and tastes so much better than the pre-packaged stuff! The best part of this recipe has got to be the fresh cilantro. It’s just so good! We served it up with some fresh carrots, snap peas and pita chips!
The peanut butter cup balls are the perfect mid-day snack. They are loaded with protein and the mini chocolate chips give them that bite of sweetness that everyone seems to crave in the middle of the work day. These were a bit hit too!
We closed out the event with a drawing for a fun, foodie themed gift basket! We also snuck in some of our homemade chocolate, coconut date bars. Yum! Our lucky winner was the adorable Devin! She was so excited!
All in all, this event was everything we could have hoped for. It was an absolute pleasure working with Mary and we were beyond thrilled to have Whole Foods sponsor all of the food! We loved meeting the entire team at Bloguettes and can’t wait for another opportunity to hang with them again soon!
