It was Greek chicken burgers with tzatziki on the menu tonight! Opa!! All I have to say is…holy yum! We all love a good burger and it’s just so fun to get creative and try new recipes. At GTK, we are always trying to think outside of the box. We are huge fans of Greek food so this easy burger was a no brainer! Instead of using parsley, which would have been standard with these other ingredients, we decided to chop up some spinach and I’m not gonna lie, that was a really great decision!! Always looking for a way to sneak in some added nutrients. Tonight, the vitamin A, fiber and protein in spinach were the big winners!! Anyway, back to the recipe. This one is super simple! We suggest starting with the tzatziki sauce. This can also be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge. You will love having it on hand to snack on with veggies or pita. Ok, all you need for the burgers is some ground chicken, spinach, red onion, garlic, feta and salt and pepper.
You literally chop up all the ingredients then add them to the ground chicken in a medium bowl. Use your hands to mix it all up. Make sure not to over mix as it will make the burgers tough. Tough burgers are a no no. Just form the ingredients into patties.
Cook them for about 4-5 minutes per side. Then serve on a bun with the tzatziki and your other favorite toppings. For us, it was fresh tomatoes, red onion and cucumbers. We also like to toast our buns…ha ha ha. Toasty buns! Wow, it must be getting late.
