We were lucky enough to attend the International Food Blogger Conference in Sacramento last weekend and it could not have been a better experience! We truly enjoyed every minute of it. We had a great line up of break out sessions to attend so we could learn more about our passions…food, writing and technology. Well, not so sure if technology is really one of our passions but it’s actually been fun learning that side of the business as well. Good thing we have our kids at home for tech support, they definitely know more about computers than we do!! The sessions were beyond informative and we both walked away feeling like we learned so much and cannot wait to put it to use. We also enjoyed meeting and networking with many other food, travel and lifestyle bloggers.
The IFBC provided a great opportunity to meet all of the fabulous brand sponsors as well.
We flew in on a Thursday and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Ella in downtown Sacramento that evening after checking in to our hotel. Our hotel was centrally located in the city so we could walk everywhere, The cooler California evenings were a nice treat for us given that we live in Arizona and it’s still crazy hot here!
On Friday we had the most amazing lunch in the park where the capital building is located. Lunch was sponsored by Nugget Markets, which is a family-owned and operated grocery market with 9 locations in and around the Sacramento Valley. They set up a perfect picnic style lunch for us to enjoy and network with the other attendees, we lucked out with the weather…it was a sunny gorgeous day! What a treat!
We had our choice of delicious, gourmet sandwiches made with Nugget Market’s fresh bread to enjoy. They were so tasty!
We also had delicious side options to go with our sandwiches…the options included a quinoa salad, fresh fruit or a pasta salad. Of course both of us opted for the quinoa and it did not disappoint! And don’t think for a minute that we didn’t grab one of these insanely good cookies…so perfect and chewy! The Nugget Market lunch in the park was a great way to fuel up for the second half of the conference on Friday.
All in all, we had a great experience attending the IFBC. We cannot wait for the next one in New Orleans!
