We cannot even begin to tell you how much fun we had hosting a cooking class at Whole Foods! It was definitely a pinch me type of experience for us and something we have had on our goal list since the launch of GTK.
Oh and what a giddy moment it was for us to walk in weeks prior for a regular grocery shopping day to see our faces greeting us with this in-store sign. So cool!
We decided upon a Greek Night IN themed meal to showcase for the class. This is a a great dinner to make, especially if you are entertaining because virtually everything can be made in advanced. The cilantro jalapeño hummus can be served as an appetizer and alongside the meal as well. It’s a fun spin on a traditional hummus with an extra kick with the flavor combination of cilantro and jalapeño. The best part is that making your own hummus takes 5 minutes to whip up, that’s it!
We also made tzatziki, lemon garlic chicken kabobs and a Greek salad filled with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, kalamata olives and lots of fresh mint with a simple red wine vinegar and olive oil vinaigrette.
We had a great time interacting with the audience, telling funny stories about our own personal kitchen mishaps and blunders and giving tips on our favorite kitchen gadgets that we can’t live without!
Wine was flowing, cooking was happening, food was served, many laughs were exchanged, and a good thyme was had by everyone! Thank you to Whole Foods and to those that attended, we can’t wait to do it again. You won’t want to miss the next event…who can resist wine, food, friends and laughter??
